Take the Tourette Pledge to stop using Tourette Syndrome as a punchline
Tourettes Action in the UK is trying to raise awareness, and are asking people to sign a pledge to stop using Tourette syndrome as a punchline.
Some of you may be thinking it’s not really necessary to have a campaign with that goal. If you think that, just go on Twitter and search for “Tourette” and you will see how many references to it are in the context of a joke or cursing. I was shocked — and disappointed — at how extensive the problem still is.
So yes, I encourage you to sign the pledge and help spread the word.
